Re: Recorder 6 problem - HELP needed

Whilst entering data under ‘Entre species for a place’ I was called away from the computer.  When I returned my computer had crashed.  In trying to entre save data under the above I keep getting the message:

An error occurred attempting to save the data.  Another user might be entering data.  Please wait a little while before trying again to save.

The data has not been changed.  Message: Unable to create new record. – Survey Event.   

As I am the only user I assume the system still thinks I am trying to entre data pre-crash – or is it?

However, I am still able to entre single species records.

The last error message generated is below.

Has anyone any ideas? – In fool’s language that is!

It may be that the Last_Key table h\s got out of synch, but I if so it is suprising that you can enter data using any method. However, I suggest you first try running  Update last Key, which you find at the bottom of the tools menu. If this doesn't help let us know and we will look into it further.

Interestingly I tried for nearly a week trying to input c 10 records.  As I said earlier, no joy.  I had found it would allow a single species entry.  So under ‘Entre species from a place’ I tried entering one record and it worked. I then tried again with two, then three etc.  It now appears to be working with larger numbers of species.   Probably defies explanation!

Could not locate the Update last key!

Probably was the last key table, which has put itself right. If you need Update last Key it is an addin which can be installed.
