Re: Boundary polygons and XML

I understand how to get complex taxon lists using XML out of named locations and their children - harnessing the superior power of XML over wizards.
This technique doesn't suffice when I want the same sort of lists from polygons.
How do I specify a polygon in an XML report?

Unfortunately, you can't. Mike Weideli suggested a workaround might be to use the Report Wizard with a polygon to generate a list of SAMPLE_KEYs that fall within the polygon. This list could then be exported to a CSV, which in turn could be used directly by XML Reports. It's a bit of a faff, but makes querying on polygons possible at least.

Re: Boundary polygons and XML

Can the Report wizards be hand-written? Taking an existing one and then code-wrangling to replace the simple SQL with a more complex SQL statement

I'm not sure - Mike Weideli would be your best bet in answering this one.
