Re: Recording Cards

Hi
I am adding some Recording Cards made several years ago into my new R6 database. They use Rucksacks to derive the species lists.

How do I know which dictionary the species list is drawn from? - it doesn't seem to say on the Rucksack.

If it turns out that it is not a preferred list. How can I update them - I hear there is an addin?

Many thanks

Re: Recording Cards

You would need an xml report to report on the dictionary list(s) the species in a rucksack have been selected from. I think I have one. If so, I will e-mail it to you. To check individual entries you can use the Go To (key) add-in: Tools – Go To – enter a key from the rucksack, e.g. NBNSYS0000094664, and set Type of data to Taxon (not Taxon occurrence).

The add-in is in ProjectRuck3.zip. It was uploaded 10/11/11 and can be downloaded from http://forums.nbn.org.uk/uploads.php . It will generate a rucksack from a list of species names. It can also be used to update existing rucksacks and recording cards to use taxa from more up-to-date dictionary lists. A log file is produced containing information on the selection of the keys (Taxon_List_Item_Keys) in the rucksack generated. Hopefully, the documentation in the download will provide all the information you need to use it.
