It appears the NBN GridMap service and web pages are not working, e.g. this link gives no response:

Also my SOAP web service calls are now all failing. Is there a problem on the Gateway?

Given that so many external sites depend on the web services, shouldn't there be some sort of official service status page? It should also perhaps have an API that apps could use to gracefully handle service downtime. For example, if the services are down (or slow) the app would use the service status API to determine what is wrong and serve a suitable alternative or error message.
