Re: R2002 Report Wizard problems

Hi

I have been trying to carry out a large query for export using Report Wizard in R2002. This has repeatedly failed with an Out of Memory error, producing a result of about 23500 records with blank rows appearing below this amounting to about 5% of the full rows. This happens on 2 machines. Is there a limit on the number of records that can be exported? (total size of XL export file 2.8MB)

Another associated problem is that on one machine R2002 will run the above query (to ~95% as before) but not produce an XL export file, giving an Invalid Class String error. I suspect that this is because it has Access 2003 rather than 97 but would be interested in hearing any other possibilities.

Re: R2002 Report Wizard problems

The first problem is a limitation of Recorder 2002. If you want to report on more than approx. 20,000 rows you'll need to upgrade to Recorder 6.

I'm not 100% sure about the second one, but I would imagine it's because the out of memory error corrupted the results and thus they can't be exported.

Re: R2002 Report Wizard problems

Thanks Charles

Will just have to wait until the new one next month. The second problem does still happen even with small reports but again once we get 6 sorted out it wont be a problem.
