Re: Entering a determination via Enter a Species Record...

I've only just noticed this and wasn't sure if it's always been like this: when entering a record via the Enter a Species Record screen, if a determiner is entered, only the determiner appears in the dets. tab with a role of Original Recorder and a type of Original. Clearly, this is incorrect: the determiner should go in as a second determination, not as the primary determination. Trouble is, there's no way of specifying the role and type of determination on the Enter a Species screen.

For this to work, a determiner role and determination type need to be added to the Enter a species screen, or the determiner fields need to be removed complete. At present the solution is generating bad data.

Re: Entering a determination via Enter a Species Record...

Hi Charles

I have a feeling that this has always been the case in R6 - I've just quickly checked V6.7.2 and this is the same.

In terms of changing this in the future, I guess the question is whether to add the determiner role and type to the 'Enter a species record' screen or whether to remove the determiner fields that are currently available? I don't have an idea of how much this feature is used/valued?

The other thing to bear in mind is how any future changes to validation/verification will relate to this.
