Re: Upgrade to 6.16.2.241 has killed networked Win 7 x64 workstation

A x64 Win 7 machine that had been talking (almost) successfully to a networked R6 version 6.15.4.238 installed on an XP machine can no longer access R6 since upgrading the XP R6 to 6.16.2.241. It crashes before presenting the login prompt with the following report:

We have tried re-running workstation install to no effect.

(It is the same machine that has the unresolved import problem reported in http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?id=1568)

It is also my boss's machine - help!

Keith

A similar problem has been noted before with an upgrade from 6.10 to 6.14. Hopefully the solution will be the same.

After the upgrade, for the first time you run Recorder on Vista/Windows 7 rather than starting Recorder.exe, run the file called RecorderApp.exe using the Run as Administrator option. This will allow the application to make the necessary changes to the registry. You only need to do this once on each machine.

Thanks Mike! It worked. I'm off the hook!
