Finally got the SQL Server and Recorder operational.  However I can't get the workstation installs to access the server.  I keep getting this:

EOleException: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server. Server not found or access denied.

I've looked at the registry and it appears to be pointing at the right server name (PCNAME/SERVERINSTANCE), and I've set both the SQL server folder and the Recorder 6 Server folder to shared.  Anyone able to advise?

Should've said, the workstation install on the server machine works fine. It's the other network machines I'm having issues with.
