Re: Site centroid

Am I right in thinking that if I give a sample a grid reference with the "site centroid" qualifier, and then change the locations site centroid, the sample grid reference will automagically update?

Re: Site centroid

I am sure that  no automatic changes take place.  Changing the Location in the observation hierarchy on  a sample will change the sample grid ref in certain circumstances, but nothing else happens automatically.  It could be done with a batch update, but you would have to think through the  validation issues.

That might explain why I couldn't find any mention of it in the docs. Not sure where I got that idea from...

Re: Site centroid

Attempting to change the Central Spatial Ref of a location (where the CSR is defined as Site Centroid) gives me the following message

Do you want to update all existing observations attached to this location and spatial reference to teh new spatial reference?

running 6.15.4.238, but am faily sure this had been the case before.

Re: Site centroid

Yes, that must be what I was thinking of (for some reason I thought Recorder did it without asking, but thankfully thats not the case!).
