Re: Addins on workstations

Hi,

I'm trying to install/remove Addins on workstations and all I get is "Class not registered" errors on the workstations. I can install and remove Addins on the server without problem (with no R6 workstations open) but none of the changes are reflected on any workstations.

Is there a process written anywhere that describes how to synchronise Addins so the workstations have the same Addins as the server copy?

Re: Addins on workstations

When this error occurred a while ago the problem was traced to a broken dll - see http://forums.nbn.org.uk/viewtopic.php?pid=5403#p5403 . Other posts in the same topic may also help.

Googling "NBN Forum Class not registered" will find other references to it.

I am not aware of any documentation on synchronising Add-ins on the workstations. I believe they have to be installed on each workstation separately so that the registry gets updated on each machine. The most likely source of information like this is the Network Installation Guide although this hasn’t yet been updated for SQL Server 2005.
