Re: What is the Linked Access Database for?

I only just got around to upgrading to the latest version of Recorder. The upgrade went okay but I got this message part way through:

"The linked Access database was not properly upgraded. This does not affect any core Recorder functionality but might affect any addins that use this to access the database."

Now that I think about it, I might have removed an Access DB from the server the other day during a bit of (in retrospect) over-zealous tidying up :/

Can any one tell me where this database should be and also what addins make use of it? Is there a simple way to restore it?

Ta if you can help.

Re: What is the Linked Access Database for?

Hi Richard
Its not used at all by the standard addins provided by Recorder, but I'm not sure if any other available addins might still use it. Other than that, its only real purpose is to allow people familiar with Access a quick way of getting at the Recorder data without having to learn the SQL Server toolset. In your Recorder 6 installation folder, there is a file CreateAccessLinkedTables.bat which can be run to recreate it. It needs the installation CD in place to run though.
