Hello Indicia users
In order to update the hardware supporting the Indicia data warehouse hosted at BRC, we need to take our servers offline for a further brief period. The upgrade will occur at 11.00pm tonight (30th September) and services will be unavailable for 15 minutes. All recording websites linked to the BRC Indicia Warehouse will be affected over this period. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Hello
There will be a disruption for brief period of time today (10th October 2013) at 9:00 pm for about 15 minutes due to our server upgrade. This will be affected all the BRC websites including iRecord website.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
On Wednesday 23rd October, starting at 0800, the BRC Indicia Warehouse, http://warehouse1.indicia.org.uk, will be taken off line for maintenance. The down time is required to synchronise the Indicia UK Master Species List with the Natural History Museum UK Species Inventory. This is an important step towards increasing the consistency and usability of records submitted via Indicia.
This will affect all websites that make use of the warehouse and website administrators may wish to post a message to inform their users about what is happening or put their website in to maintenance mode.
It is anticipated that the server will be unavailable for several hours. Information about progress with the work will be posted here.
Regards,
Jim Bacon.
Warehouse1 is now back on line but scheduled tasks are not yet running.
This means that functions such as data cleaning and notifications will be delayed for a short while.
There is still a little bit of tidying to be done in the database but we do not believe this will affect anyone.
A few spurious data cleaning notifications may have arisen due to reassignment of taxon_ids caused by removing some duplicate names.

Warehouse1 is now fully up and running.
The update we have just performed has modified the UK Master Species List, bringing it in to line with the UK Species Inventory.
Users of this list may notice additional species or perhaps changes to species names.
If viewing the list in the website interface you will find that it is now in a herarchical structure with the exception of a few names which have yet to find a proper home in the hierarchy

I have been advised from our IT department for this :
"Due to essential work required, the Wallingford computer systems (including VPN) will be completely shut down from 5pm Friday 22nd November until 8pm on Sunday, 24th November."
During this Indicia warehouses, iRecord and all other web sites will be unavailable.
We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause.
We have been informed from our IT department that due to significant upgrade of our IT system, All servers are down from 5pm, Friday 18th July until 5pm Sunday, 20th July.
This will effect to iRecord, Warehouse & all web sites situated at BRC severs.
We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause.
I have some additional information about the reason for the downtime of BRC servers on 18-20 July which you may, like me, want to post on your website in advance of the down time this weekend to help users understand why the interruption is necessary.
The storage area network which provides all of the storage for all of our servers is being replaced. The new storage will be more secure and more reliable, helping to ensure the safety of the records we are collecting. The storage space is also being increased which will provide the capacity needed for the increasing numbers of records and images we are receiving.
Any web page which connects to the BRC warehouse will experience errors during the downtime. You may wish to add a notice to those pages in particular or take them off line temporarily.

BRC websites, iRecord & Indicia warehouse will be unavailable from 9.00am to 4.00pm on Monday 10th November for some essential maintance. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Will it be off-line for much longer?
Hi
I plan to take testwarehouse offline for a short while this evening (Thursday 20/11/2014), hopefully after most users have gone home for tea. I will just be taking a backup and then installing the latest updates.
