Re: Reporting on WCA cchedule 9 species

I have been asked by consultants, before now, to search on 'invasive species' and I have always asked them to name the taxa that they wanted to include. Until now, schedule 9 of the Wildlife & Countryside Act, which lists invasive alien species, did not include a number of species - for example Himalayan Balsam - that are usually considered problematic.

But schedule 9 is about to be amended (http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-pets/w … le9%20.pdf). The list of plants on it will increase from four to over 30 and would, I think, provide a useful basis on which to standardise searches for invasive alien species.

Given the increasing focus on these species (e.g. the recent NBN conference), it would seem appropriate to be able to specify schedule 9 species as a 'designation' in Recorder 6's reporting wizard. Would this be a feature supported by other users?

Note that the new list of schedule 9 species is due to come into force on April 6th.
