Re: Ordering of Events

When looking at the hierachy of events in observation view, they appear to be sorted by date alone:

+ 2000 - Puddletown
+ 2000 - Toytown
+ 2000 - London

it would be better if they were sorted by date and event location:

+ 2000 - London
+ 2000 - Puddletown
+ 2000 - Toytown

(and vice versa depending which sort option is set)

Re: Ordering of Events

Personally I would prefer if all screens allowed more flexible sorting of items. With the observation view it would be handy to be able to sort by Location on occasion, similarly in Location view it would be handy to opt to sort by Filecode (all our file codes, as in many counties begin with the 10km square).

I'm sure I wouldn't be the only person either, who mourns the loss of the ability to browse selected lists (as in Rec 3) which of course provided even finer control of sort order etc. For example, If I identify a number of observations within the dataset of a taxon thought highly unlikely to occur in our area, I can set up a filter to 'report on' those observations, but there is no way I can open up the list of observations (and only those) for editing or amendment. This, to my mond is one of the biggest omissions from Recorder 6.
