I'm trying to delete an indiviual imported from another database - custody of the record wasn't transferred. This individual has an association with an organisation.

When I try to delete the individual, I get "You cannot remove this individual. Remove it's association first". Ok, fine. I go into Edit mode on the individual, switch to the Assocs tab and... the delete button is greyed out.

(I then have to find the organisation and delete the individual from within the organisation)

Hi Charlie,

You need to click the main edit button on the bottom of the left hand pane this then allows you to start and edit session for the whichever tab you are on on the right hand pane.

No not really - that's what I am doing - the delete button is greyed out because I don't have custody of the data. I should be able to delete the association even if I don't have custody of the data (to enable deletion of the individual & as I can do it by going to the organisation and deleting individual from within the association)

A bit more on this.... as deleting the indivudal from within the organisation actually deletes the individual not the association why not allow deletion of an individual with associations?

I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to assume that if an individual is deleted, their associations go to?

I agree, it seems logical to remove an individuals associations automatically when you delete the individual, since the associations are an inherent part of the individual not an entity in their own right.
