Re: Polygons fading away

Dear All,
I've just installed some of the 1:50,000 OS map tiles they are working fine, I've also got a polygon layer showing ancient woodland. If I put this on top and turn it on it shows for a second or two and then fades away. It's still there because if I turn the tile off I can see it. Is this normal? Can I stop it happening?

Re: Polygons fading away

Try moving the polygon layer BELOW the tiles.

Unlike all other GIS, the Table of contents does not work in the same order as you would expect.  The topmost layer is at the bottom of the pile.

I think this is being dealt with...?

Yes, this is being dealt with.... partially.
In 6.14 new layers will be added to the top of the list of contents and arrow buttons have been added to move layers up and down but unfortunately which layer is viewd 'at the top' was missed and will have to go onto the queue for the next version..sorry only a partial fix :(

Dear All,
Thanks for the help I would't have worked that out in a month of Sundays. I await the fix with anticipation.

Re: Polygons fading away

You can move map layers in Recorder 6 v6.13, and earlier versions, to get polygons to display on top of background layers by dragging and dropping them in the Map Layers box in the Map window. You need to drag your polygon layer to somewhere below the background layer(s) in the list. The problem is it is difficult to highlight layers for dragging but with a bit of fiddling you can do it. The up/down arrows in v6.14 make this much easier. The other way to change the order in v6.13 is by using the Move Up/Move Down buttons on Map – Map Options – Map Layers tab. For more information see the Help: Contents – Tasks – Mapping – Map Options – Map order, although the information on order isn’t correct.
