Re: Cannot locate add-in when importing location data into Recorder 6.13

When importing location data in zipped NBN format I get a program exception and an error message saying it cannot locate an add-in. However the Lasterror report does not get updated with the details.

I have had this error before and was advised to reinstall the add-in from the Recorder 6.10 CD. I could not do this as I kept getting error messages. Instead I upgraded to 6.13 and the import worked perfectly. I have just tried to import more location data and have the got the cannot locate add-in message again. Now I am on a higher level of Recorder I do not want to try loading the 6.10version of the add-in from disk again. Any suggestions, please?
This is the error message in Lasterror when I was still on 6.10. It appears to be the same as I get on 6.13.

Re: Cannot locate add-in when importing location data into Recorder 6.13

Hi John,

Which addin are you referring to? You can check that you are using the latest version of the addin in question by visiting the addin page where the latest versions are posted: http://forums.nbn.org.uk/recorderWebsite/Addins.htm. There is further advice and explanation at the bottom of the addins page - you may need to uninstall the addin (and remove from it from the folder in Program Files on the C drive and then reinstall the latest version of the addin from the website int he Recorder interface.

Recorder 6.14 is intended to run more smoothly with Vista - this is due out in the next month or two.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Lynn

Thanks Lynn, I will try what you suggest and let you know the outcome. Good news about 6.14 being more Vista friendly.
