Is your aim to import into another Recorder 6 database? If not, then using SQL is very much easier.

I tried your suggestion for exporting the location data, but it mainly gave me invalid zipfiles or XML reports that stopped after a few lines because of errors. I'm not sure if that is errors in our data or just because Recorder is struggling these days.

It should be possible to extract the data using SQL, but it is a long time since I've tried that and can't remember how to do so. Does anyone have any convenient how to guides for using SQL with Recorder?

You can use shift-click to highlight all the locations in the location hierarchy and then go tools -> export data (there is a checkbox for include obs which you can untick if just want the location data). This doesn't work for the names and addresses though, which you have to do one by one.

Does anyone know how to export all data on locations (sites) and people from Recorder 6? At the moment, I can only work out how to export data on sites if they records attached, but that is limited. I would like to be able to export all data from every tab in the Locations table and the Names and Addresses table.
