Data Exchange between Marine Recorder and Recorder 6

Is is possible to get Recorder 6 to export data in a format that can be easily imported into Marine Recorder?
I have so far struggled to get my head round MR and in the end imported the handful of marine records I had into R6 - much to the irritation of my local county recorder!

Re: Data Exchange between Marine Recorder and Recorder 6

Dave,

I'd have to confess to this being something I've never tried.

When developed MR and Recorder 2000? had virtually identical data structures (though these may have diverged fractionally since) - so in theory a subset of surveys, events etc could be exported and then re-imported.

However there are one or two fields which are expected by the MR application that aren't required in Recorder - these are primarily things like a Sample Ref which allows  various sample records to be linked together (i.e. biotope and species lists etc).

So in summary - I'm sure it would be possible - but also if you only have a handful of records you probably took the right approach

Best wishes
James
