Upgrading Recorder 6
You are strongly advised to keep your copy of Recorder 6 updated to the most recent version. The upgrades contain useful extensions to the functionality as well as bug fixes. The latest version is 6.13.3. This upgrade does not contain any dictionary updates as these have now been separated from upgrades to the software. From V6.10 onwards you need to download updates to the dictionary from the Dictionary Upgrades page. You can check which version you are currently using by clicking "Help" and then selecting "About Recorder 6". We advise to always back up or take a copy of your Recorder 6 database before proceeding with an upgrade.

Update from 6.7.2 to 6.9.3
This zipped file will upgrade Recorder 6 from Version 6.7.2 or later to the latest version (V6.9.3). If you have an earlier version of Recorder 6, you will first need to upgrade to 6.7.2 using one of the upgrades below. This upgrade extends Recorder to install with additional versions of SQL Server, separates the species dictionary upgrade from the software upgrade and includes a number of other minor enhancements to the functionality and bug fixes. Please read the release notes for details of changes and for information on how to run the Recorder Dictionary Upgrade application. Please note that the dictionary update provided with this version is relatively large and therefore needs to be left to run overnight. Please note that because of high CPU Usage, the Recorder Dictionary Upgrade application window may indicate the application is not running. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THE UPGRADE AT THIS STAGE. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on the Performance tab. The CPU Usage will probably be nearing 100% and the CPU Usage history line will be at the top of the grid box. Unless the CPU Usage is low and static, the upgrade is still running. If you have a network version of Recorder 6, then you will need to monitor CPU usage both on the server and local machine to check that the upgrade is still running. The upgrade splits it’s time between the two machines and therefore the local CPU may become inactive whilst the server continues to process the upgrade. A message is displayed when the upgrade is complete. This upgrade also contains a folder of new and revised XML reports available for use. For instructions of how to use these in Recorder 6 please refer to the release notes. Please note JNCC and the report providers accept no responsibility for these reports, and advise users to test the output of each report to ensure that it is accurate and appropriate to their need.
